Now that we have launched your business and set it free into the wilds of the internet, it doesnt mean the work is over, on the contrary, the work has just begun. Websites just like your business and your car, need looking after, regular maintenance is essential.
This is where our Care Plans come into play.
A care Plan is definitely a must to keep your website up-to-date and secure. Its understandable that people want to leave their website alone after development, but at some point in the not too distant future the code and the software running your site will become outdated. This quickly affects the site’s loading time, it may cause broken links, and it will generate outdated content. The end user - ie your prospective customers experience will become difficult and unmanaged, showing your business in a Negative light.
A Website Care plan is a mainteneance agreement that supliments your webite build and looks after the site after the development phase is completed. It is designed to be an 'End to End' plan which looks after the chain of technology which allows your website to function, effectively, quickly and in an economical a fashion as possible.
Web technologies move along very very quickly and once your website is allowed to stand still it will quickly depreciate and not show your business in the best possible light.
With that in mind we look after the likes of:
As you get started, it’s normal to have lots of questions. Here is some information to help you on your journey to build out a website maintenance plan.
Having an ongoing Care plan for your website ensures we remain on top of your security, and upgrades, helping you avoid malicious attacks on your network and keeping your site operating as effectively as possible. Checking broken links, or that content is refreshed and your site stays user-friendly.
All websites need some degree of maintenance. Even the simplest websites need regular updates and monitoring to make sure their software is fully up to date and that their data is being appropriately backed up. Larger or more sophisticated sites might have more maintenance needs, but all sites need maintenance, we do this through our care plans.
While it is possible for users to update their websites themselves, this isn’t an ideal situation. Website maintenance generally falls near the bottom of priority lists for small business owners. Contracting it out to a professional ensures that not only will it actually get done, but it will get done well and regularly, giving you the best results possible.
Website Care plans vary from company to company. Ours involves regular security and software updates to avoid issues with hacking and various vulnerabilities, regular offsite data backups to protect your information in the event of a worst-case scenario, secure hosting, regular monitoring and detailed scanning, as well as tracking of analytics and SEO, and detailed monthly reports about everything happening with your website.
A lot of the time, hosting companies don't offer plans that are specifically tailored to the needs of the business owner, Maybe some core server updates and server wide backups, hardly every offsite, but beyond that, normally very little. It’s in your best interest to work with a company that will actually take the time to learn about your brand, and your digital needs.
For this reason Mediamatic has its own array of servers and is in effect actually your host aswell, this way we are able to manage your needs from top to bottom.
At Mediamatic we pride ourselves on running a tight ship, Server and Website integrity are of the utmost importance, not only to us but to your business, so for this reason, they are not optional, its imperative that your website is maintained properly.

We will continuously monitor, manage and deploy WordPress software updates, plugin updates & theme updates.
Regular maintnenace and updates are important and plugin updates are often submitted by the developers to improve performance, fix bugs or security vulnerabilities. These updates must be managed properly and updated periodically to ensure your WordPress website is secure and running efficiently.
We not only keep you updated, but we manage the compatibility of updates and therefore reduce the drama that can, sometimes, unfold when an update breaks something else. We will test and manage this for you and can instantly restore your site from a backup if the worst does happen. Let manage all the WordPress plugin updates giving you the peace of mind to carry on with your business.
We create cloud backups of your websites database, content, pages and file structure daily. The backups are then sent to a separate independent server for security and reliability, allowing us to have a one-click restore if anything should happen, to your site.
Premium and above plans benefit from hourly backups. When you have an eccomerce site where data is changing all the time, like order details, sales, user registrations etc. A daily backup may not be sufficient. Imagine making several sales in a day, and your last backup was a 24 hours ago. You would lose all the past 23 hours data on your site, from the customer details to the orders themselves as well as stock adjustment.
Having an hourly backup ensures the minimum of data loss and disruption.
An important focus of our service is security monitoring aswell as proper backups. We keep your site safe and secure 24/7. With our antivirus, malware scanner, firewall security, your site is safe with us! We block rogue login attempts and spam IP’s trying to hack in. We scan files, folders and plugins for bad code, URLs, code injections and security vulnerabilities. Our advanced firewall will keep your site safe but also saves you resources!
Our firewall will catch and stop a lot of spam before it hits your server, saving your bandwidth and helping with site performance.
Once you submit a support ticket with your requirements, we will login to your WordPress dashboard and manage the changes needed. By website content management we mean small website edits like:
Adding, removing or editing website text that you supply.
Adding, removing or editing website images that you provide.
Adding a page and content you provide.
Changing a contact form
Adding google analytics code.
Or other similar small changes.
If you require more substantial edits like a redesign or a significant change to your site, this will be charged at our hourly rate. If you have questions about your specific site edit or change needs, please get in touch to discuss this with us.
Every month we send out a client report to all customers on a business plan so you know exactly whats been happening with your website. This report keeps you in touch with the regular maintenance on your site. It will inform you about things like:
When your backups were taken.
When and what plugin updates were done.
When your core WordPress software was updated.
Your overall site security
Firewall log and details
Your Uptime over the month.
Your website’s performance.
And much more.
SSL gives a secure https connection to your site, which is now an important ranking factor for Google. Its important to note certificates are only offered to websites we host on our server.
We will do some work on your website’s backend to improve the loading speed of your site. Some of these optimisations involve installing and setting up a caching plugin, installing and setting up an image optimisation plugin and a few other tweaks. A faster site is a better site for user and Google!
If you are on our standard or premium plans we will keep your website on our updtime monitor, ensuring it is always online. If for any reason, it is not, we will know right away and get it back online. More information about your website uptime will be included in your monthly client report.
We will run a weekly performance scan of your site. This tells us how good your site’s performance is in terms of speed. Information about your weekly performance checks will be included in your monthly client report.
